Impression: We are usually very gun shy when it comes to whiskies finished in cask that previously held some other alcoholic beverage. We have been burnt many times before. Jefferson's seems to have found a winning formula with their Groth Reserve Cask Finish. You get all of the great flavors of Jefferson Reserve and an added sweetness of cherries and a very smooth texture from start to finish. We might even go so far as to describe this as a whiskey mixed with cherry coke. It's great neat or on the rocks. It works really well as a mixer.
