Tasting Notes

Cask Strength

Straight Bourbon Whiskey

Smooth Ambler Spirits

Greenbrier County, West Virginia

Aged 9 years

117 Proof
Color: Auburn
Nose: Oak, Spice, Almonds, and Dark Fruits
Taste: Toffee on the front of the palate, followed by an astringency of leather on the mid-palate and mint on the hind palate.
Finish: A flash burn that fades quickly through the mint to a nice lingering black pepper burn
Body: Medium

Personality: Wedge Antilles

Impression: Another great offering from Smooth Ambler Spirits. The nose on this whiskey is great. We like this 9 year offering  more than the 10 year old whiskey. They are both fantastic bourbons in their own right. This is why we really love single barrel whiskies. Each one has its own personality and allows you enjoy the symbiotic relationship of how the whiskey interacts with the barrel producing something special that you don't find in a small batch whiskey.
