Nose: Oak, Leather, Spice, Toasted Nuts and Caramel
Taste: Anise, Sweet Corn, and Chocolate
Finish: There is a delayed fuse on the finish. It starts off as a very smooth sweet aftertaste and then the grenade goes off at the back of your palate with a final mint note.
Body: Medium
Personality: Kendra Lust
Impression: A nice balance between the nose and gustatory experience. If most connoisseur consider a prime whiskey to be between 10-12 years, this 22 year old offering from Orphan Barrel proves that whiskey does not read the rule book. The extra time in the barrel does not seem to have overworked the whiskey and we appreciate the experiment.
